How To Stay Healthy With Minimal Food Choice.

A lot of clients think that Im a diet police but Im really not. However diet is very important to them so I help them navigate their own worlds. Not all my clients live near me but their journey to find good food sources near them is similar to mine in some ways and in some ways not.

We moved to La Verne about 6 or 7 years ago and because we were trying to eat on the healthy side and we were getting our kitchen remodeled we had to source our meals carefully. Unfortunately we didn’t have an easy way to discern which places would be best for us. We had to try different places, make the best meal choice, and then see how we felt and performed.

I subscribe to a ancestral meat based diet and lately I am more heavily on the meat side. When I am in a pinch and time is a factor here is where I go to get my protein fix. I hope you’ll give it a try.

  1. In N Out When I go here I get the flying Dutchman. I usually order 3 just for myself. The meat they use there seems well cooked and sourced well. The cheese is artificial but does provide enough salt to complete the dish.
  2. Wingstop I really love to eat a well made wing or drumstick, bone in, and they make them really good at this location. The caution I have to take when eating from here is the flavors which are on the sweeter side. Usually I stick to the hot and dry rub based flavors.
  3. Mi Cocina Mexican Grill When I want some food for the soul I go to Mi Cocina. This place is run by a family and they are the nicest people you will ever meet. My go to dish is the Molcajete, which is a sizzling dish that is all about grilled meats (chicken, beef, shrimp and chorizo.) My wife and I usually share a molcajete but sometimes I wish I could have one all to myself. Its that good.
